Obituary for Ann Cotch

COHOES Ann Cotch, 94, passed into eternal life on Sunday, February 27, 2022 after spending two weeks at the Eddy Heritage House in Troy.

Ann was the daughter of the late Andrew and Tekla Mazurek and the wife of the late Victor Cotch who passed in 2003. She was sister of the late Walter and Stanley and step sister of the late Lilly Alexandrovitch.

Ann is survived by her loving children, Mark Cotch and David (Linda) Cotch; by her grandchildren, Erik (Kate) Cotch and Rachel Cotch and her great grandson, Cullen Cotch. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Canada, Ann moved to the Cohoes as a youth and spent her whole life here. She graduated from Cohoes High School and worked all of her life at Mohawk Paper Mill in Cohoes, which she really enjoyed.
Ann was a lifelong member of St. Peter and St. Paul’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. She was an active member of S.S.P.P. Mother’s Club and Sisterhood (Past-President) and loved singing in the church choir. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling and tending to her garden flowers.

She truly enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and watching them grow into adults. She loved to make her delicious “tuna salad” and invite them over for lunch and conversation.

Her family would especially like to thank Samantha Cehowski who used her nursing skills to help Ann with her personal needs for the past 2 years. You were truly her Guardian Angel. Also, a big thank you to Dr. Stephen Sgambati, Jr. her longtime physician. Ann always looked forward to her visits with him. They would also like to thank Community Hospice, especially Lauren for their excellent care of Ann during the past weeks.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter & St. Paul’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Peter & St. Paul’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes on Friday from 4-7 p.m.

A Panakhyda service will be held in the funeral home at 5:30 p.m.
