Obituary for Bogdan Kowalik

Clifton Park Bogdan Kowalik, - Bogdan Kowalik, 89, formerly of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on Saturday December 22, 2018 at the Vermont Veteran's Center. Born and educated Poland, he was the son of the late Edward and Jozefa Kowalik.

Bogdan was a Capital District resident and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was a proud United States Army veteran and was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation (ROK). Bogdan was employed as an electrician with Ford Motor Company in Green Island. He enjoyed tinkering with all types of electronics, especially radios and televisions.

He is survived by his wife, Janina Ferenc Kowalik of Clifton Park, children, Alfred (finance Nikita Lenahan) Kowalik of Reading VT, Alicja (Leonard) Kirsch of Dunadin, FL and Anna Kowalik of Clearwater, FL, grandchildren, Nadia and Alexandra Kirsch. He was predeceased by his son Edward Kowalik.

Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd 105 Vliet Blvd Cohoes, Thursday morning December 27, 2018 at 8:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church at 9:00.

Interment with full military honors will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7-9 p.m.
