Obituary for Caren M. Valenty (Byers)
Waterford: Caren M. Valenty, 68, of Fonda Rd, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 9, Mother’s Day at her residence. Born in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Robert Byers and Anita Stacavich and beloved wife of John Valenty, III of Waterford.
Caren was a graduate of Glens Falls High School. Caren was retired from the corporate offices of Verizon in Albany. She was an avid reader and animal lover. She especially loved her dog Gizmo and her cat Bijou. Along with her “grandcats” Tyler and Francesca (Anita). Caren was also a true lover of anything Disney. She was known as the quirky fun mom who would do anything for anyone. She is deeply loved and will be missed by many.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her adored children, Anita M. Valenty, John Valenty IV and Charles F. Valenty all of Waterford, siblings, Michelle (James) Del Signore and her twin brother, Craig Byers all of Glens Falls, mother in law, Carol Valenty, sisters in law, Anne (Peter) Bariteau all of Cohoes and Robin (James) Cotch of Clermont, FL, brother in law, Lester Flint of Glens Falls and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Flint.
A service will be held in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd Cohoes, Thursday evening, May 13th at 6:00
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-6 prior to the service.
Masks will be required and pandemic regulations observed.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
