Obituary for Carol P. Guilbeault (Cote)

BALLSTON LAKE Carol P. Guilbeault, 71, entered into eternal life peacefully Wednesday, January 11, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Edward Cote Sr. and Adelaide Farrell Cote. She was a graduate of Cohoes High School and worked as a claims processor for Express Scripts in Troy until retiring due to disability. Carol was an extremely hard worker who was always on time and enjoyed her work no matter what it was.

Carol will be remembered for her generous spirit as she was a selfless and warm person who was always helping others. She was also a social butterfly who was easily loved by those she met. She always had a kind word and truly enjoyed getting to know people.

Family was everything for Carol as she lived to spend time with her grandkids. She was the unofficial “family coordinator” who could be relied upon to make birthdays and holidays special. She also enjoyed shopping as well as watching her favorite teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the NY Yankees.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Henry “Hank” Guilbeault; her beloved children and stepchildren, Michelle Putnam (Adam), Gary LaDue, Jr. (Lisa), Angela Koenig and Geoffrey Guilbeault (Tammy); her adored grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, Isabella, Paige, Nicholas, Dillon, Kaylee, Ryan and Rihanna and her great grandchildren, Jinora, Colton, and Everett. She was the loving sister of Linda Kent (late Larry Anderson), Cheryl Currie (late Andrew), Susan Carney, Robert Cote and the late, Edward Cote, Jr. and Michael Cote. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Clara Cote, her son-in-law, Sean Koenig as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A brief prayer service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. prior to the service.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at the American Legion Post 476 (93 Oneida Street, Cohoes, NY 12047) immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 South Manning Boulevard, Albany, NY 12208 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
