Obituary for Caroline M. Mickiewicz

Waterford Caroline M. Mickiewicz, - Caroline Mickiewicz, 93, died in her home on Friday, 21 December 2018. Caroline was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Jadwiga Ziemba Rymanowski.

Born in Cohoes, New York on 20 October 1925, she attended Saint Michael's Elementary School and Cohoes High School. She worked for the New York Telephone Company as an operator and engineering studies clerk, retiring in 1983 after 34 years of service. In retirement Caroline did volunteer work as a sacristan for Saint Michael’s Church, Cohoes. She was a member of the Saint Michael's Rosary Society, the Telephone Pioneers of America and an Apostle of the Sisters of the Resurrection, Castleton, New York.

Caroline was the devoted wife of 50 years of the late William Joseph Mickiewicz who died in 2004. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings: John Rymanowski, Francis J. Rymanowski and Rose Juneau.

She is the mother of and is survived by her sons, Mark Joseph Mickiewicz of Waterford, New York and Rev. David Wm. Mickiewicz of Oneonta, New York, and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral arrangements are through Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd., 105 Vliet Boulevard, Cohoes, New York. A wake will be held on Thursday, 27 December 2018 from 4-7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, 28 December 2018 at Saint Michael’s Church, 20 Page Avenue, Cohoes, New York at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Saint Michael's Cemetery, Waterford, New York.

The family would like to express their thanks for the care that was shown to their mother by Sr. Patricia Allen, CSJ of Sisters Care, sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet, Latham, The ER, ICU and Progressive Care staffs of Samaritan Hospital, Troy and Community Hospice.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Sisters of the Resurrection, 35 Boltwood Avenue, Casteleton, New York, 12033.
