Obituary for Claire A. Peat (Brassard)
TROY Claire A. Peat, 101, entered into eternal life Friday, January 27, 2023 at Eddy Heritage House in Troy. Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Odile Dame Brassard.
Claire resided in the Cohoes, Waterford and Troy area for most of her life, but also in Lady Lake, Florida as well as at her camp in Brant Lake. She enjoyed bowling, playing the organ, golfing and was an avid reader.
Claire was the beloved wife of Francis J. Peat who passed in 2006. She was the loving mother of Janice Morris (Norman) of Loudonville, Dr. Dennis Peat (Carol) of Flagstaff, AZ and the late Thomas Peat (Mary Alice) who just passed in November; the grandmother of Michelle Peat, James Morris, Jennifer Peat Kyea (Alan), Christine Peat and Karen Peat Woodbury (Wayne); and the sister of the late Aline, Alice, Irene, Estelle Theresa, Donald, Raymond and Francis Brassard. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Claire’s family would especially like to thank the staff at Eddy Heritage House for their exceptional care and compassion during the past 6 years.
