Obituary for Cornelia M. Boyer

Troy Cornelia M. Boyer, - Cornelia M. Simpson Boyer, 98, of Troy passed away peacefully Sunday September 16, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital embraced by her loving family. Born in Mechanicville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Alice Andrews Simpson and beloved wife of the late Ernest Boyer.

Cornelia was a life-long area resident and was educated in Mechanicville Schools. She was a member of St. John's Church in Troy and retired from Russell Sage College where she was a house mother to students. She enjoyed fishing, rides on the motorcycle, casino, bingo and horseracing, but most of all she was happiest when in the company of her family.

She is survived by her children; James and the late Peggy Hanescak of Missouri, Jefferey Hanesack of Troy, Timothy and Mary Evelyn Christian of Clifton Park, Jeanne and Jerry Dunne of NJ, and Judy Sumpter of Missouri, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Arthur Simpson, Earnest (Bill) Simpson, Charles (Jim) Simpson, John Simpson, Kate (Simpson) Coons, Blance (Simpson) Wiltsey and Lillian (Simpson) Cebula.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd., 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, NY from 4-7 pm Thursday, September 20, 2018 and share their special memories at 6:30 pm.

Burial will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
