Obituary for Dorothea A. Shevchik (Cusick)
COHOES Dorothea A. Cusick Shevchik, 91, of Skyview Dr. entered into eternal life Friday, December 17, 2021 at Ellis Hospital.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Lavallee Cusick. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1947 and has resided in Cohoes for most of her life. She worked for many years as a secretary for GE in Schenectady until her retirement.
Dorothea was an accomplished golfer who achieved four holes-in-one in her lifetime. She also enjoyed playing piano and pinochle as well as skiing and bowling.
Dorothea was the wife of Peter Shevchik who passed in 2019 and sister of the late Donald Cusick. She is survived by her dear friend and caregiver, James Rizzo as well as several nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held Thursday, January 6, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
