Obituary for Gail M. Carpenter (Chard)
CLIFTON PARK Gail M. Carpenter, 71, died peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Thelma Santspree Chard and wife of the late Stephen W. Carpenter. In her younger years, Gail worked at Barclay Home Products in Cohoes and more recently at Sangamon Mills in Cohoes until her retirement.
Gail was first and foremost a caregiver who always put others first. She was a generous spirit who loved her family. Everything always happened at “Grammy’s House” especially since she was the best cook ever. She loved children and babysat for many families around the area. She also enjoyed taking care of her plants as well as her cats.
Gail was the beloved mother of Stephen S. Carpenter (Mandy Chura) of Troy, Jennifer Powers (John) of Cohoes, Brandi Ashley of Clifton Park and the late, Candace Carpenter; the loving fiancé of Daniel Brown of Clifton Park and the sister of Brandt Chard of Cohoes. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
