COHOES Helen Rusiecki Daley Giroux born April 18, 1928, passed to Our Lord on February 4, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at the Shaker Place Nursing Home where she spent her last 2 years.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Cohoes, NY, she attended and graduated Cohoes High School, Class of 1946. She was the daughter of the late Robert & Bertha (Schultz) Rusiecki, the beloved wife of the late William F. Daley and the late Jacques A. Giroux.
She retired after 18 years with the Court of Administration, Albany County Supreme Court as Special Term Clerk. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church & Rosary Society, serving as a head lady, a charter member of the Cohoes Columbiettes, former Ladies Auxiliary Center of St. Michael’s Community Center, where she held the office of recording secretary, CSEA local retirees Chapter 1000 & Young at Heart Club in Latham and a proud member of the Silver Sneakers where she drove herself until she was 87 years old.
Helen is survived by her children: Maureen P. Daley of Cohoes, Susan A. Herring (John) of Boynton Beach, Florida and Robert P. Daley (Susan) of North Colonie. Eight Grandchildren: Colin Murphy (Diane) of Lake Worth, Florida, Derek Ringer, Brian Ringer, Mary Helena Ringer all of Cohoes, Robert J. Daley of North Colonie, Alexa S. Giorgi (Zak) of Clifton Park, Jason Herring of Delray Beach, FL and Scott Herring of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, John T. Daley (Jeanne) and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son, William S. Daley, her brother Edward Rusiecki and sisters; Eleanor (Lola) Rusiecki, Wanda O’Keefe, Phyllis Kuczynski and Marilyn Belofsky.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd. Cohoes on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, and at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, Cohoes. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Waterford.
The family is sincerely thankful for the care and love that Helen received while she was isolated at Shaker Place from her loved ones during the start of the pandemic. We can’t thank you enough.
