Obituary for Ida L. Shagalski (Remillard)
COHOES Ida L. Shagalski, 94, of Walnut St. entered into eternal life Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020 at Hudson Park Nursing & Rehab.
Ida was born on Nov. 1, 1926 in Waterford to the late William and Ida Nolin Remillard. Throughout her life she worked at various retail stores in the area with the most recent being M. Solomon’s. Ida was a communicant of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Cohoes, and she enjoyed traveling, going to Racino and playing bingo.
In addition to her parents, Ida was predeceased by her first husband of 26 years, Charles Abel; by her second husband of 15 years, Joseph Shagalski; by her son, Keith Comire; by her sisters, Rhea Bouchard, Alice Demers, Beatrice Comire-Motte and Edna Patenaude and by her brothers, Leo, Edgar and Arthur Remillard.
Ida is survived by her brothers, William Remillard of Rotterdam Junction, Ernest Remillard (Maureen) of Cohoes and by her sister, Joan Simonds of Pattersonville. She is also survived by her grandson, Robert Comire (Lauren) and by 2 great grandsons as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd, Cohoes on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
Masks will be required and social distancing and occupancy regulations observed.
Private interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
