Obituary for James H. Dibble
Stillwater: James H. Dibble, 82, of Phillips Rd, Stillwater, passed away peacefully at Saratoga Hospital embraced by his loving family on Friday, April 8. 2022. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Horton H. and Lillian V. Vaughn Dibble and beloved husband of Theresa E. Madison Dibble, celebrating their 25 years of marriage on February 28, 2022.
Jim graduated from Cohoes High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired as a draftsman with NYS in 1995 after many years of employment. Jim was an avid hunter and shooter, traveling to many places, Greenland, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Canada and his favorite place was Arizona. He enjoyed the sport of muzzelloading, spending many hours over the years at the shooting range. Jim was the recipient of many awards and medals. Jim was a life member of the NRA, life member of the Saratoga National Muzzelloading Club and Wilton Rod and Gun Club.
In addition to his wife Theresa, Jim is survived by his children, Margaret “Peggy” Spiteri (Bob) of Midland, VA, Jim Dibble of Remington, VA, Shannon Oliveri (Robert) of Bealeton, VA, grandchildren, Katherine Mullins of Warrenton, VA, Megan Funk (Kyle) of Bealeton, VA, Madelyn Oliveri of Austin, TX and Andrew Oliveri of Richmond, VA, great grandchildren, Easton Mullins, Mia Mullins and Callen Funk, Step-daughter, Nicole Smi of Cohoes NY, sister, Susan D. Shanahan, of Watervliet, NY, nieces, Kathy Disonell (Chris) of Clifton Park and Ellen Landis of Cohoes, nephew, John Shanahan (Vanessa) of Cohoes, mother of his children, Anne Grimes of Hardy, VA, great nieces and great nephew, Lauren, Carissa, Devin and Brendan.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jim’s family on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 3pm to 6pm in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd Cohoes, NY.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
