Obituary for Karen A. Voytila
Karen Voytila, 70 of Cohoes, NY passed away on October 1, 2022 at home after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born February 13, 1952. Karen was predeceased by her parents Rosemary (Primeau) Voytila and Victor (Duke) Voytila. Karen died peacefully holding the hand of her beloved partner of 46 years, Janice Clewell. She was attended by her loving caretake, Michele Munson Peart and neighbor, Barbara Hildreth in her final hours. She is survived by her partner Janice Clewell and her 2 cats.
Karen was a life long resident of Cohoes and was educated in the Cohoes Schools. She was a beloved mentor to many cousins and nieces and nephews. She loved to feed the birds and neighborhood cats. Karen worked at Barclay Home Products Inc. in Cohoes after High School until the Factory closed in 1985. She then ran the Captain Video Store in Cohoes until the store closed. She retired from the NYS Dept of Tax and Finance.
A Memorial will be held in Karen’s honor at the Cohoes American Legion Post 476, 93 Oneida St ,Cohoes, NY 12047, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 4:00 pm – 7:00pm
