Obituary for Kurt E. Nealand

Cohoes Kurt E. Nealand, - Kurt E. Nealand, 66, of Dartmouth St in Cohoes passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Karl and Marie Deslauriers Nealand and the beloved husband of Margaret L. "Midge" Fitch Nealand.

Kurt was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Cohoes High School. He retired from Freihofer's Baking Company in Albany, where he was employed as a Baker. Kurt enjoyed golf and was an avid Hockey Player and playing on several local teams and played Semi Pro with the Rensselaer Flyers. He loved music, especially the "Beatles", and spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed riding his Harley.

Along with his wife he is survived by his sons; Jason B. (Amber) Martens of Cohoes, Brian J. (Erin) Martens of Cohoes, his granddaughter Lynne Martens, his mother-in-law Marion Fitch, and several nieces and nephews. Kurt was predeceased by his brother Carl Nealand and his sister Lynne McCabe.

A funeral service will be held in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, Tuesday morning at 10am, November 27, with Father Gregory S. Weider officiating.

Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday, November 26, from 4-7 pm.
