Obituary for Leonard J. "Lenny" Skarbowski
HALFMOON Leonard J. Skarbowski, 70, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his residence.
Born and educated in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Stanley and Alfreda Potera Skarbowski.
Lenny moved to this area in the 1980’s where he met the love of his life, Antonia M. LaRose. They have been happily together for almost 39 years.
In addition to his loving wife Antonia, he is survived by his beloved children, Marc Hall (Jolene) of California and Abigail Skarbowski of Halfmoon; by his siblings, Christine Eicker (Vic) of Arizona, Judy Mendez (Tom) of Arizona and David Skarbowski (Anne) of Colorado. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lenny was a quiet man who enjoyed the simple things in life like being at home and reading. He was a hard worker who spent most of his life doing maintenance and repair. He currently worked at La Quinta in Latham and had been employed as an auto mechanic in his earlier years. He had a keen interest in electronics and was very adept at fixing computers. He also had a lifelong love of music and often enjoyed playing the guitar.
A funeral service will be held Monday evening at 7 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. prior to the service.
