Obituary for Loretta M. Merrill
COHOES Loretta M. Merrill, 84, of Orchard St. entered into eternal life Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born and educated in Cohoes, Loretta was a lifelong resident of the city. She was the daughter of the late Alcide and Louise Deschamps Sylvester. In her younger years, Loretta worked as a nursing assistant at St. Joseph’s Provincial House in Latham. She was also a communicant of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Cohoes.
Loretta’s family was everything in her life. She is survived by her beloved children, Daniel Desautels (Heidi) of Utah, Donna M. Flannery (John) of Cohoes, Debbie Desautels of Cohoes and Denise Desautels (Donna) of Niskayuna. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:00 a.m. from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd. and at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday from 3-6 p.m.
