Obituary for Margaret E. Gage (Bruneau)

Cohoes: Margaret E Bruneau Gage, 94, of Central Ave, Cohoes entered into eternal rest on Thursday September 9, 2021 at her daughter’s residence. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Josephine Woods Bruneau, Sr. and wife of the late Robert Gage.

Margaret was a lifelong resident of Cohoes and attended the Cohoes Schools. She worked in various textile mills and retired as a dietary technician with the Cohoes Hospital. Margaret enjoyed crocheting, creating beautiful Christening blankets for Church of the Holy Trinity along with scarf’s, mittens and blankets for various other charities. She loved her family above all and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margaret proudly volunteered her time during World War II, preparing packages of supplies for our troops overseas.

She is survived by her loving children, Sandra A. Halloran, Donna (the late Michael, Sr) Hutchens, both of Cohoes and James F. (Deb) Halloran of Valley Falls, adored grandchildren, Eric (Kimberly) Halloran, Michael ( Sarita) Hutchens Jr, Rebecca (David) Quell, Daniel and Andrew Halloran, treasured great grandchildren, Zakary, Gabriella, Nicholas, Alexis, Brendan, Emma, Nathan and David and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Madeline DiFabio, Wilfred Bruneau, Philip Bruneau, Jr, Elaine Castracane, Donald and Joan Bruneau and her former husband James F Halloran, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Church of the Holy Trinity on Monday morning September 13 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit with her family on Monday morning from 9-10:30 prior to Mass at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes.
