COHOES Mary M. Belanger passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Elderwood Nursing Home in Ticonderoga. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ida Mailloux Belanger and wife of the late Walter Michon.

Mary resided in Halfmoon and Cohoes most of her life. Mary graduated from Shenendahowa High School in 1970. She worked for New York Telephone and Verizon until her retirement.

Mary was a member of the Halfmoon Senior Center and St. Mary’s Church of Crescent. She loved going on trips, playing bingo with her friends, scratch off tickets and fireworks.

Survivors include her two sons, Nathan Belanger (Megan) and Joshua Murray (Mitzi), two brothers David (Peg) Belanger and Joseph Belanger, 3 cherished grandchildren; Juliet Belanger, Natalie Belanger and Alexander Belanger. Mary loved her grandchildren very much. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends, loved by all. She was predeceased by her sister Ida Mahan.

Mary had a special relationship with her two Aunts, Edna Rivet of Waterford and the late Margaret Lewis of Cohoes.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Waterford.
