Obituary for Mary D. Blair
Cohoes Mary D. Blair, - Mary D. Coutu Blair, 82, of Forest Ave, Cohoes, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred J. and Elizabeth G. Kearney Coutu and beloved wife of the late Gerald C. Blair.
Mary was a lifelong area resident and received her education in the Cohoes Schools. She was employed in healthcare as a nurse's aide and a sterile supply technician with St. Mary's and Leonard Hospitals. She was also a caretaker for children and worked in various capacities in Sea World in Florida. Mary enjoyed reading. She was dedicated to her family and home and cherished spending time with her family whom she loved very much.
She is survived by her devoted children, Margaret (William) Josey of Gloversville, Julie ( Mark) DeFruscio of Cohoes, Jo Ann Blair of Berne and Robert Blair of Cohoes, grandchildren, Adam, Patrick, Nikki Tyler, Nicholas and Blair, great grandchildren, Mark, Jackson, Natalie and Jace, sister in law, Ethel Coutu and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Coutu.
Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd, 105 Vliet Blvd Cohoes Thursday morning, January 31 at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church at 11:00.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Waterford.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9-10:30 prior to Mass.
