Obituary for Mary L. Fish

Cohoes Mary L. Fish, - It is with heavy hearts that Karyl, Kathy, Kenny, Kelly, Kerri, Kyle and Kristopher announce the passing of their loving Mom, Mary "Lorraine" Fish, age 83 on Monday, October 29, 2018 at The Eddy Village Green, Cohoes, New York.

Born Mary Lorraine to Anthony and Florence Savaria on December 10, 1934, Lorraine married the love of her life, James Kenneth Fish, on August 22, 1953.

Born, raised and educated in Cohoes, Lorraine worked for Matton's Shipyard, NY Telephone Company and National Furniture Company, from which she retired. She was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary at the Cohoes-Waterford Elks, the American Legion in Palm Bay, Florida as well as acting as the Social Director for the Condo Association in Palm Bay. Jim and Lorraine travelled extensively, visiting 49 states as well as Iceland and Ireland, being sure to kiss the Blarney Stone for good luck.

Her love for and pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was beyond measure. Her greatest joy was spending time with all of them.

Survivors include her loving children Karyl Hopp (Jim Knapp), Kathy (Chuck) Guild, Kenny Fish (Lillian Gregorius), Kelly (Joe) Garceau, Kerri (Patrick) O'Brien, Kyle (Bryan) Fish, Kristopher (Raina) Fish, and Mary Beth Fish. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lorraine was pre-deceased by her loving husband Jim, siblings William Savaria, Carol Farron and James Savaria.

Family and friends are invited to call Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Boulevard, Cohoes, New York. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 2nd from Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church, 520 Pawling Avenue, Troy, New York, Reverend Karyl Hopp officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford, New York.

The seven Ks would like to sincerely thank the staff of 14 Eddy Village Green for the unconditional love, kindness and care showed our Mom. You will forever be in our hearts.

Mom, we love you, we thank you, and we will miss you more than words can express.
