Obituary for MaryAnne Rosetti

BALLSTON LAKE MaryAnne Rosetti, 74, passed away peacefully Friday, May 20, 2022 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late George Spizowski and Theresa Gadoua Spizowski Opalka and the step daughter of the late Michael Opalka.

MaryAnne was a woman who always put her family first and devoted her life to caring for her family. This was especially true when it came to her cherished grandchildren. An eternally devout grandmother, she dedicated many of her days to caring for her grandkids and passed on to them many of her passions including making crafts and cooking. Her family was truly her greatest joy in life.

MaryAnne was an extremely talented baker. Every Christmas, friends and family would enjoy the countless trays of homemade cookies that she would make and deliver for the holiday. She was also known for her delicious specialty cakes that always accompanied her to many birthdays and special occasions. She enjoyed gardening and plants as well and never missed an opening day at Saratoga Racetrack for over 40 years.

MaryAnne is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Thomas J. Rosetti; by her beloved children, Chris DeZuba of Ballston Lake and Amanda Keller (Stephen) of Clifton Park and by her adored grandchildren as well as her siblings, Sharon Bowen (Ronald) of Cohoes and Michael Spizowski (Tracey) of Latham. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Westlake.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with MaryAnne’s family on Friday, June 10th from 6-8 p.m. at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes.
