Obituary for Rene E. Rousselle Sr.
COHOES Rene E. Rousselle Sr., 90, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Riverside Center for Rehab. & Nursing in Castleton.
Born and educated in Cohoes, Rene was the son of the late Frank and Evone Simard Rousselle. He was a veteran of the US Navy having proudly served on the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea CVB-43. After returning home from the Navy, he worked for many years in the tape division at Nashua Co. (formerly Norton Co.) until his retirement. He was also a member of E.T. Ruane, American Legion Post 476 in Cohoes.
Rene was the husband of the late Lillian Walsh Rouselle and Charlotte Garner Rousselle. He was father of Harold, Robert and David Rousselle, Rene Rousselle Jr. and the late Paul Rousselle; the step father of Kim Foster-Fribourg and brother of Gabrielle Serfilippi. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Glen, Lucien and Rene Rousselle.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Interment will follow with military honors in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home from 12-1p.m. prior to the service. Masks will be required and social distancing regulations observed.
