Obituary for Robert F. Forgett Sr.

HALFMOON Robert F. Forgett, Sr., 72, of Canal Rd. died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at the Stratton VA Medical Center. Born and educated in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Leo and Helen “Betty” Forgett.

Bob was a veteran of the US Navy. He had been employed at the Watervliet Arsenal, Speedway and Advance Auto Parts. He was also a former member of the VFW.

Bob always enjoyed boating and being on the water. He spent many years at the Diamond Reef Yacht Club. He also loved classic cars, was a NASCAR enthusiast and an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Violet Candrilli Forgett; his sons, Mark Forgett, Robert Forgett, Jr. and Christopher Forgett; his step daughters, Jamie Greenwood, Jennifer Loughlin and Jessica Payne; his siblings, Rose Juneau, Daniel Forgett and Michael Forgett as well as 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, James Forgett, Judith McCabe and John Forgett.

Relatives and friends may visit at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes on Wednesday from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Masks will be required and social distancing and occupancy regulations will be observed.
