Obituary for Robert L. Halikias
COHOES Robert L. Halikias, 75, of McDonald Towers passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at his residence.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Elmer and Marion Tanner Halikias. Robert was educated in Cohoes and went on to serve honorably in both the US Army and US Navy. He belonged to the ET Ruane American Legion Post in Cohoes. Most recently, he had been employed at the Watervliet Arsenal until his retirement.
Robert was the father of Robert Halikias and the late Kelly Halikias; the brother of Glenda Seeberger of Phoenix, AZ, William Halikias of Cohoes, Josephine Campney of Florida, Elmer Halikias of Arizona, Anne Batchelder of Cohoes, Russell Halikias of Cohoes, Donald Halikias of Lancaster, CA, Deborah Holmstedt of Waterford, Mary Stevens of Calhoun, GA, Kathy Halikias of Waterford and the late, Richard, Jack and Stanley Halikias. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes.
A committal service will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Gerald BH Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Those wishing to go in procession to the cemetery should meet at the funeral home Monday at 10:30 a.m.
