Obituary for Russell A. D'Amico Sr.

TROY Russell A. D’Amico Sr, 84, of 7th Ave. passed away Monday April 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born and educated in Cohoes he was the son of the late Anthony “Nino” and Theresa Ranville D’Amico.

Russ was employed for 37 years by the United Traction Co., now CDTA and retired in April of 2001. Prior to that he was employed by the Fifth Avenue Bus Co., Troy Buick, Bragel Taxi and Black & White Taxi. He was a veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union and a former member of the Pistoneers Road Club. He enjoyed classic cars and owned a red 1968 Plymouth Road Runner. He also enjoyed racing cars.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Nancy L. Donlon D’Amico. He is the father of Russell A. D’Amico Jr. of Cohoes and the late Anthony Rafael D’Amico. He is the brother of Frank D’Amico of Cohoes, Roger D’Amico of North Troy and Carl D’Amico (Phyllis) of Melrose. Several nieces and nephews also survive as well as his friends Phyllis Pfitz and Joseph Ceccucci and his feline companion Isabelle.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Waterford Rural Cemetery
