COHOES Shirley A. Langlais, 86, of Ogden Mills entered into eternal life Monday, March 8, 2021 at Evergreen Commons Nursing & Rehab Ctr.
Born in Troy, Shirley was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Dorothy Shader Kinns. Shirley was educated in Cohoes schools and was a lifelong resident. In her earlier years she had worked in the Harmony Mills, Zullo’s Grocery Store as well as many other places throughout the city. More recently, she had been employed as a clerk for the NYS Dept. of Taxation & Finance.
Shirley was the cherished mother of William Langlais (the late Gail) of Cohoes, Kevin Langlais (Jean) of Cohoes, Kim Ippolito of Waterford, Ann Travers (Chip) of Clifton Park, and Tina Len (Stephen) of Cohoes. She was the sister of Richard Kinns (Paula) of Clifton Park and the late William Kinns, Gladys Cuva (Fred), Betty Pluckrose (Chuck), Robert Kinns and Dorothy Valenti. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law, Jane Kinns and brother-in-law, John Valenti.
Shirley’s greatest joy in life was her family. She always loved children and enjoyed playing cards, bingo and doing puzzles with the kids. She will be especially missed by her granddaughters, Alicia, Melanie, Amberly and Emily who were the loves of her life and she was the love of theirs.
Funeral services were held privately and burial was in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Waterford.
