Obituary for Steven R. Cross
GREENFIELD CENTER Steven R. Cross, 61, died peacefully Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born in Schenectady, he was the son of Mila Braymer Cross Fitzgerald and the late James M. Cross and the step son of Mark Fitzgerald.
He graduated from Scotia Glenville High School and went on to serve honorably in the US Air Force for 10 years attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received multiple certifications from Aircraft Mechanic School in Utica and worked as an aircraft industrial mechanic for most of his life.
Most recently, Steve had been employed at Momentive Performance Materials in Waterford and prior to that he had worked at Bruno Machinery, Richmor Aviation and Delta Connection. He was a master craftsman who belonged to the National Woodworkers Assoc. He was an expert marksman and a member of the National Rifle Asooc. He also enjoyed boating and was a member of the American Legion.
Steven was the father of Jennifer Warren, Jamila Cross, Nicole Cross, Mark Cross and Sean Cross and the brother of Donald Cross and the late Michael Cross. He is also survived by his beloved partner, Susan Hofmann, 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
