Obituary for Steven M. Partyka

COHOES Steven M. Partyka, 45, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and Godfather entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at his residence.

Born in Troy, Steve was the son of Steven N. Partyka (Sheila) and Donna M. Bryans Parente both of Cohoes. He graduated from Cohoes High School in 1995 and received his associate’s degree from HVCC. He was currently employed as a service technician engineer for Screen at Global Foundries in Malta and at their SUNY Campus in Albany.

Steve was an extremely gifted musician and jazz drummer. His love of music began at an early age when following high school, he moved to Nashville to pursue that love by doing studio jazz work and live performances. He had been employed by Pearl Drums and was involved with several local musicians. Most recently, he was a member of Arch Stanton Jazz and had the opportunity to play in Alexandria, Egypt at the Cairo Jazz Festival. He has also performed in New Orleans on New Years Eve.

Steve was an avid biker who loved all types of cycling. He especially enjoyed mountain biking in the mountains of Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by his loving sisters, Natalie Partyka-Recktenwald (Thomas) of Albany and Sandra Partyka-Kernan (Bryan) of New York, NY; by his grandmother, Mildred Bryans of Clifton Park and by his best friend and canine companion, Mischa. He is also survived by many close aunts, uncles and cousins.
