Obituary for Vera Kowansky (Rozdilsky)
LA MARQUE, TEXAS Vera Kowansky, 83, entered into eternal life Thursday, March 9, 2023 after a long illness.
Born and raised in Cohoes, Vera was the daughter of the late Peter Rozdilsky, Sr. and Mary Harris Rozdilsky. She graduated from Heatly High School and the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing. She went on to work as a registered nurse in the maternity ward at Albany Medical Center for many years until her retirement.
Vera belonged to St. Basil’s Russian Orthodox Church in Maplewood and to St. George’s Orthodox Church in Texas. She enjoyed bowling, was known for her artistic talents and belonged to several art clubs.
Vera was the wife of the late William Kowansky. She is survived by her brothers, Peter Rozdilsky, Jr. (Patricia) and Paul Rozdilsky (Karon) all of Texas; by her first cousin, Sandy Maloney as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church, 21 Archibald Street, Maplewood (Watervliet) on Monday, March 20th from 10 – 11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Basil’s Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Maplewood in the Springtime.
