Obituary for William E. Reu
WATERFORD William E. Reu, 84, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April7, 2021 at Samaritan Hospital.
Born in Pittsfield, MA on Feb. 26, 1937, Bill was the son of the late William and Claire Reu. He grew up in Cohoes and later moved to Waterford where he has resided for the last 49 years.
Bill graduated in 1955 from Cohoes High School and went onto serve in the US Coast Guard. He was employed by Eastern Freightways, RedStar Express and was a proud member of Teamster’s Local 294. He was awarded the “Million Miles Driver’s Award” for never having an accident. He was the Treasurer of the Cohoes High School Alumni Assoc. and authored the CHS Alumni Association Bi-annual Newsletter of which he was extremely proud.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, PatriciaLysogorski Reu. He was the beloved father of Christine Reu-Donlon of Clifton Park and Sheila Reu of Broken Arrow, OK; the brother of Robert H. Reu of Ravena; grandfather of Keegan Donlon, Garrett Dudeck and Perrin Dudeck; and brother-in-law of William and Janice Lysogorski, Daniel and Nancy Lysogorski and Thomas and Robin Lysogorski.
Bill was a truly loyal friend to many.
Relatives and friends may visit with his family at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes on Tuesday from 9-11 a.m.
